TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. (Feb. 15, 2005) - Bringing culinary experience from fine-dining establishments in locations as diverse as Colorado mountain country and Switzerland, John Wabs joins Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa as executive chef at Cascade Grill House & Spirits, effective immediately.

Wabs, a culinary arts graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, brings 11 years of fine-dining experience to Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa.

Wabs plans to continue Cascade Grill House's focus on simple culinary combinations based on high-quality ingredients. Cascade, which specializes in New Western cuisine, changes its menu seasonally, and Wabs has begun planning new menu additions and changes for the spring.

"I like to keep things simple but elegant - keep it basic and employ lots of fresh taste combinations," Wabs said.

Wabs career highlights include fine-dining experience at La Parisienne, Bleu Angel and Pod in Philadelphia, where he specialized in French bistro-style cuisine and Asian Fusion; two years in Switzerland at Restaurant Zueghauskeller, with a focus on German dining; and two years at the Inverness Hotel and Golf Club and the Brown Palace, both in Denver, Colo. At the Brown Palace, Wabs was part of a team that managed $16-$18 million in banquets each year.
