Winter Recreation
Winter travelers will find unparalleled ski terrain at the adjacent Jackson Hole Mountain Resort with rolling trails, open bowls, thrilling tree skiing and cutes, and plenty of moderate terrain for those new to skiing and snowboarding.
Off the slopes in the winter, visitors can experience the thrill of snowmobiling, the quiet reflection of cross country and skate skiing, epic winter wildlife safaris and dog sledding adventures.
Spring in Jackson Hole
A quiet, lush time of year, spring in Jackon is an ideal season for visiting and taking in the natural wonders of this wild and rugged area. Early-season National Park goers can count on far less traffic and encountering an abundant dose of migrating wildlife in our immediate surroundings as well as in both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park. It's a little known secret within the Jackson Hole community that spring is a (albeit more cilly) time of year to take to the Snake River for some early-season fly fishing.
Summer Adventure & Activities
In the warmer months Jackson Hole opens up even more recreational opportunities by providing the ultimate outdoor playground. The Snake River flows through the valley providing world class fly fishing, whitewater and scenic river rafting, kayaking, and canoeing with spectacular Teton views.
Winding trails run throughout Jackson Hole's mountains and valleys providing plenty of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running. Guests can view Jackson Hole from the big skies in a hot air balloon, paraglider, or glider plane. The winding country roads and paved pathways are perfect for exploring by bike or car, with breathtaking scenery and stunning views around every turn.
National Parks
Jackson Hole is home to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park 60 miles to the north. The parks can be explored year round, with rare wildlife spotted roaming through the deep snow in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park in the winter months, migrating and mating through the spring and fall, and roaming throughout the mountains and streams in the summer.
Fall is Spectacular
Once the summer crowds subside, Jackson Hole remains a jewel of the west for its wild, rugged discovery amidst a refined and relaxed retreat. Fall's spectacular foliage emerges in the first weeks of September and remains golden and brilliant well into October. Native Aspen trees hold a spectacular golden yellow for which the region is renowned. Fall means a rare time for wildlife spotting and the added treat of enjoying an elk bugle or two.
