Jackson Hole Fall Arts FestivalEvery year the Fall Arts Festival beckons thousands of artists and art lovers to Jackson Hole. This year, the art fest takes place September 5–15, and we wanted to give visitors a few local tips to make sure your time spent in Jackson Hole is unforgettable. Here are some must-dos during your time in the Tetons:

The 2013 Fall Arts Festival Program is online and it’s a great resource for visitors during time spent perusing the galleries and tents. During the 11-day art fete, the doors to the galleries throughout town will be open and the walls will be colored with an amazing array of artwork.

Jackson Hole AuctionA few days worth noting are Sunday, September 8th and Saturday, September 14th. Main Street and Town Square will be buzzing on Sunday (9/8) as the “14th Annual Takin’ It to the Streets” brings 40 of the best local artists into the fresh air for an al fresco art experience. Also, the “Taste of the Tetons” is on Sunday, where local restaurants, chefs, and caterers will be pairing delicious dishes with complimentary wines. And, on Saturday (9/14) the “QuickDraw Art Sale and Auction” will garner a lot of attention. This is the 18th year in a row that the QuickDraw will take place, and it’s a fan favorite every year! At 9 AM, 30 local artists will begin a piece of artwork. They’ll wrap up the piece by 11 AM and their work will be auctioned off immediately after. This is an awesome opportunity to experience the creative process firsthand, and take home a piece of art you watched be created.

Fall Arts FestivalThese are just a few examples of the many events going on during the 11-day Fall Arts Festival. Be sure to check out the 2013 Fall Arts Festival Program and visit the Jackson Hole Chamber’s website for more information.

Jackson Hole TramWhile the Fall Arts Festival is the main draw to Jackson Hole during September, don’t forget to spend some time outside, exploring the world renowned surroundings that make Jackson Hole such a special place. A tram ride to the top of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a must-do. There are miles of trails to explore and breathtaking vistas to soak in. A tram ride costs anywhere from $32 (for adults) to $16 (for children). But there are discounts available online if you visit www.jacksonhole.com and purchase online.

Grand Teton National ParkAnd, an autumn adventure in Jackson Hole would be remiss without a visit to Grand Teton National Park. Art lovers will flip over the stunning peaks, winding trails, grazing wildlife, and natural beauty accessed by the Grand Teton National Park.
