Closing Day is your last excuse to don the neon this winter!

Closing Day is your last excuse to don the neon this winter!

It’s hard to believe that the ski season is already coming to an end. Apparently, time flies when you’re having an all-time season! For those who have been here “bell to bell” from November 28, 2013 to April 6, 2014, the 130 days of chairlift-accessed skiing this winter have been memorable—too many deep days to count, perfect conditions that made normally scary features do-able, 130 fun après sessions at Spur, and so much more…

The final countdown to closing day is upon us. Gaper Day—the annual April Fool’s Day party in Jackson Hole—came and went. Don’t worry, though; there’s still time to dress up in neon, denim, or onesies, and have a good laugh on Closing Day. With five days left in the 2013-2014 ski season in Jackson Hole, we compiled a list of 5 things you have to do in Jackson Hole before the mountain closes.

1. Go get a waffle!

If you’re a regular reader of the TML blog then it’s no surprise that we are devout fans of the waffles doled out at Corbet’s Cabin. Before the lifts stop spinning it’s imperative that you indulge in one last wintertime waffle at the top of the tram.

2. Ski or ride something that scares (challenges) you!

“If you don’t do it this year, you will be one year older when you do,” says Warren Miller. And, the ski bard’s advice couldn’t be more true. You’ve been staring at that chute/rock/pillow line/black diamond all season, and you only have a few more days to go get it. There’s no better feeling than standing at the bottom of a line that challenged and scared you. You’ll feel like lightning bolts are coming out of your fingertips, and you’ll never forget the experience!

3. Dance like nobody’s watching!

Music Under The Tram is a spring-time staple in Jackson Hole, and there’s only one last chance to cut a rug under the big red box this winter. Lazy Eyes—an underground basement rock band that’s been putting on amazing shows in Jackson for 4 years—will plug in and rock out on Saturday, April 5th. Their set lists include Classic Rock, Punk, Hip Hop, Blues and Metal sounds. Don’t miss this last chance to dance underneath the tram!

4. Après with a reckless abandon!

Every day you have the ability to say, “it’s five o’clock somewhere,” but only during winter do you have the chance to après! Take advantage of the fleeting après opportunities by heading to Spur for a post-shred beer or cocktail before Jackson Hole Mountain Resort closes. We’re pouring local craft beers from Snake River and Grand Teton Breweries, the Spicy Margarita and Meet Your Maker headline our list of renowned specialty cocktails, and Spur’s starters and bar bites are the perfect complement to an après drink.

Candle-lit Roof Top Hot Tub Resort 5. BOOK for next year!

It’s never too early to start planning your winter holiday at the Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa. And, on the coattails of an amazing winter, we’ll fill up fast for next season. Get your ski vacation on the books, it’ll give you something to look forward to throughout the off season.
