Fall is legendary for fly fishing in Jackson Hole. Whether a seasoned angler or a novice, you’ll be dazzled by the scenery as you float on the clear waters of the Snake River along the dramatic Tetons. […]
From here on out, things are really amping up at the Village to celebrate the end of another great ski season in what we would argue to be the greatest winter playground — Jackson Hole.
The marathon of the final days of ski season begins this Saturday with the Pole, Pedal, Paddle competition. Celebrating the event’s 40th year, the race includes an alpine skiing leg, a cross-country ski leg, a bicycle leg and a boating leg. Expect to see some of the area’s best athletes, as well as some of the area’s best comedians, compete in this high-energy event. Then join the athletes outside Nick Wilson’s at 3pm for the after party. For maximum fun, stay close to the participants in the “Fun Class” of the event… You’ll notice them as the ones definitely having the most of it.
The day isn’t over, though. After the Pole, Pedal, Paddle race, Lazy Eyes will take the stage as the opening act for Music Under the Tram. Grab a few drinks, jam out on the lawn and stick around because world-renowned band, OAR, will follow as the headlining act of this year’s Mountain Fest. If you still haven’t had enough, grab a seat and watch as fireworks explode over the mountain during the annual fireworks show.
And that’s just Saturday.
After a Saturday like that, treat yourself on Sunday morning to the Hair of the Moose, available at Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa. With 15 minutes of Oxygen Therapy and a Spur Bacon Bloody Mary, it’s the perfect way to get yourself back on track. Looking for something a bit more low key? Stop by Terra Cafe for a local-favorite Powder Hound Breakfast Burrito or smoothie before heading back out on the slopes.
Sunday, the final day of Mountain Fest, begins with the Coombs Classic. Novice skiers and riders beware: this event is not for the first-timer. Participants receive raffle tickets for each lap they complete on designated routes. There are two routes to follow, one for more experienced skiers and riders and one for more intermediates. Anyone can participate and registration is open that day from 8:30am to 1:30pm at the bottom of the mountain, between the tram and the gondola. After the event, stop outside Nick Wilson’s for the after party and enter your tickets into raffles for prizes from Marmot and K2. Plus, enjoy live music from the Chan Man Roots Band.
No matter how you choose to celebrate this weekend, take advantage of all the mountain has to offer and enjoy yourself! We look forward to seeing you somewhere through the course of the busy weekend.
