It has been many years since we have had a “true” spring in Jackson Hole – but this year we are blessed with a change of seasons and the valley is bursting with color and wildlife babies!
There is a lime green hue to the trees in the valley as the aspens are just starting to bud. The spring grass is bringing luster to the valley floor and daffodils and tulips are splashing there colors across the canvas.
As you head north to Grand Teton National Park, slow down at Gros Ventre (gro-vant) Junction and keep your eyes peeled for moose and bison foraging on the fresh grass. If you take a right on the Kelly road at Gros Ventre Junction, you will undoubtedly see baby bison wandering close to their mothers.
And it’s time to go venture in the Park! Grand Teton National Park roads open Tuesday, May 1st! The Moose-Wilson Road will not open until May 15 and the south entrance to Yellowstone National Park on May 11th. The west entrance is open, but you cannot drive from Old Faithful to Lake Lodge yet. Stay tuned for updates.
